We have walked into a cul-de-sac following our unquestioned prejudices.
Only after we realised that we were not getting anywhere have we tried to
step back seeking to put our predicament in perspective. By stepping back
we suddenly discover basic aspects that in light of our previous failures
take a disproportionate significance, to the point that we iconise them with
pompous names.
